DATE: Georgian, c.1820
A gorgeous Georgian garnet heart padlock dating from the early 19th Century. The stone is a striking blood-red colour, and rests in a foiled mount so that it pools the light, and appears to glow from within. It's teeny tiny (swipe for scale), and, unusually, features a chased clover motif to the back... for love and luck. Modelled in 9 karat yellow gold.
